It's that time of the year again.
We are looking for GM’s to run games and tournaments on one of our biggest nights of the year Freshers Night which this year is on Tuesday the 5th of October.
Freshers Night is important for a number of reasons, it is generally a members first experience with the club, they may have heard about us from friends or relatives or perhaps attended Q-Con in the past. Freshers Night can and does decide a members willingness to attend Dragonslayers in the future.
Freshers Night also an opportunity to show off the diverse nature of gaming and anime culture to those with little experience in it. As such it is important that there is plenty to do and see on Freshers Night and that we present a welcoming environment to new members.
The committee will be actively managing the crowds, monitoring equipment and running the raffle on Freshers Night so we are relying on our members to help us out on the night where we recruit the majority of new members.
We are looking for GM’s to run games and demos of RPG’s, Board Games and Console Tournaments ideally suited for new players who may not have past experience in gaming.
We plan to have a full list of games available on Freshers night, along with availability and start time, printed up for new members to see when they come through the doors for the first time.
As an added incentive for budding GM’s free pizza and a can of soft drink (or water) will be provided for all GM’s who run games. That’s right people I’m actually bribing you to play games!
Once games have been confirmed they will be compiled on a list on the QUB Dragonslayers forum.
If you want to run a game on Freshers night please provide the following details either by posting the details our forums or by PM to Deep-Green-X directly.
We require:
* The name of the GM running the game including contact details if available.
* The system the game will use (ie D&D, Dark Heresy, Wii, PS3, Space Hulk ect)
* The expected or maximum number of players (important so that games are not over subscribed)
* The expected run time of the game and ideal start time and
* A brief description of the game to be played if you feel it is needed.
Once we have a list of confirmed GM’s we will print out a list for use on Freshers Night. |

QUB Dragoslayers will soon be purchasing society t-shirts and hoodies due to overwhelming interest from our members. We hope to take orders for these items at the start of the new academic year, however before we can begin taking orders for new merchandise we require a new logo to appear on all our branded goods.

As such QUB Dragonslayers is announcing a competition to design a new logo for all our society garments and related merchandise. The logo will be printed on all society t-shirts and hoodies and will appear on the QUB Dragonslayers and Q-Con websites.
If your a talented graphic artist and want your work to be seen by a multitude of gamers and Anime fans then read on for details on what we're looking for and how to submit your design.
